Barbara Elways

Barbara Elways is an Enrollment and Student Communication Professional at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). She joined UCCS in 2023 as an Admissions Examiner and transitioned into her current role in 2026, where she focuses on thoughtful, student-centered communication that supports access, clarity, and nurturing relationships throughout the enrollment journey.

Barbara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Washington State University. She is passionate about helping students navigate higher education with confidence due to her previous experiences as an elementary school teacher on a Native American reservation.  These experiences shape her collaborative approach and deep commitment to equity and student success.

Outside of work, Barbara enjoys spending time with her family, camping, arts and crafts, and relaxing on the beach, all activities that help fuel her creativity and chronic optimism.

She works remotely from Baltimore, Maryland, and values flexibility and balance.
