Nearpeer is a free app where both current and incoming students meet their UCCS crew. It gives you a safe, welcoming space to connect over shared interests, your favorite study spot, your major, life experiences, and everything in between. Whether you're juggling research, managing a full course load, studying remotely, or just looking to meet more people, the Nearpeer app helps you stay connected to the UCCS community from wherever you are.

Getting Started

  1. Start by selecting the "Nearpeer" button above (This will take you to nearpear.net)
  2. Click "Create Account" to sign up and use your @uccs.edu email
  3. When you’re asked to choose your college, type "UCCS"
  4. Fill out your profile, pick your interests, and explore the different groups and connections you can join

FAQ

Once you’re in Nearpeer, you can browse available groups and join any that interest you. You can join multiple groups and leave or mute them at any time. 

You can chat within Nearpeer groups and through private messages. Group spaces are great for community conversations, and private messaging lets you connect one‑on‑one with other students.
